On August 6th 2020, a contract was signed on the allocation of funds for the project “Increasing cybersecurity capacity and NIS Directive compliance in CHC Rijeka”<\/strong> between the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) and the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka. The total value of the project is HRK 2,489,942.00 and it is co-financed with funds from the CEF Telecom program for the development of the European Digital Services Infrastructure.<\/p>

The estimated duration of the project is 36 months, and the main goal is to increase within the system of the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka the cybersecurity and compliance with the Directive on security of Network and Information Systems (NIS Directive) and the National Cyber Security Strategy in Croatia. The Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka has been appointed as the operator of essential services (OES) in the health sector and as such is required by the Croatian National Security Council to develop internal cybersecurity policies and procedures as well as to improve the level of maturity of cybersecurity. The project will increase the technical, professional and organizational competencies of users. The Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka will pay special attention to upgrading its technical infrastructure and protection of server rooms, as well as upgrading and strengthening the security of its entire computer network. <\/span><\/p>

Furthermore, its own cybersecurity policy will be developed and implemented and procedures for continuous communication with the National Authority for Prevention and Protection against Computer Threats to the Security of Public Information Systems (CERT – CSIRT) will be established and a cyber security incident reporting procedure will be defined.<\/span>
<\/p>

The project will develop a training, audit and consultation process that can be used in the future to train other operators of essential services in the health sector in Croatia or in other EU countries.<\/p>

Also, the project will improve the cooperation of the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka with relevant stakeholders for cybersecurity at the national and European level. It will join the relevant sectoral ISAC at European level and participate in events organized by the Head of ISAC (established by the European Commission) and, if necessary, use the support services of that Head.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
